We are aware of a fire alarm at #Westfield #Stratford. Officers are at the scene. We believe it's a small fire at this early stage. Will confirm with a further tweet asap.

I take it this is a delayed report from after the Liverpool match. I saw loads of people running from the stadium screaming "Get me out of here!" Horrific.

What sort of cunt screams about a small fire. It was like that incident at Parson's Green where there was the shit bomb left by some twat that hurt almost no one and then people stampeded over each other down the stairs and people got seriously hurt. Are we still the stiff upper lip stoical nation?

The Sun reporting this as mass panic and bombs and gunshots on social media.

The police say small fire and the place has been re-opened.

Don't you just love fake news.

Re: Stratford Incident Now
The effect of terrorism is to terrorise even when there isn’t a bomb, gun etc.

All very well looking down on people who are terrified, maybe you should look at those terrorising them instead.

The Parsons Green bomb was packed with nails, bolts and screws that didn't go off properly killing and injuring hundreds on a packed tube train because the bomber mixed the liquid wrong. All those people who stampeded over one another should count their lucky stars they were able to do so.

Everyone looks down on terrorists. They're scum.

Re: Stratford Incident Now
During the IRA campaign my street got twice cordoned off by police. We weren't allowed back in our houses one night. Both times turned out to be ffake warnings.

No one cried, no one made it all about them. Why do people react differently now?

And it's nothing to do with not looking at the terrorists, there is clearly a different response from the public now.

Fifth Column 9:36 Sat Nov 11
Re: Stratford Incident Now
Maybe it's just ISIS are better at propaganda and spreading fear than the IRA. So it's a reasonable and understandable response from the public,

Or is it the social media generation wanting to FB live every moment of their lives?

Or both?

Re: Stratford Incident Now
Fifth,

You mention that trait of the stiff upper lip. What is the biggest change down your street that might account for the loss of that sort of British trait?

I can think of two main factors that would explain the change in the street I grew up in.

Re: Stratford Incident Now
Fifth ... it was complete panic with a lack of information and misinformation. My wife have to handle having one girls in tears and the other in shock - and in the panic was briefly separated . People were convinced it was terrorism and they were too scared to get the tube home.

no, you're not allowed to panic. its part & parcel of living in a big city

Can you imagine the damage that would be caused by a shit bomb? Shuddering at the thought of it, and there'd be the stink as well. Fuck getting caught up in one of those
